Scottie Scheffler, who won the Masters in 2024, may participate in the 2024 PGA Championship despite initially facing the possibility of missing it due to his wife’s pregnancy. However, recent reports suggest that the baby has already been born, and that probably was the true reason behind his absence from Wells Fargo. The couple welcomed their first child weeks after Scheffler claimed his second Masters victory in three years.

During Masters week, the baby became a topic of conversation when the media reported that Scheffler would withdraw from the tournament if his wife Meredith went into labor. Meredith is a tournament regular and was present for Scheffler’s first Masters win in 2022. She was also by his side in March when he won the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.

Besides winning at Augusta, Scheffler also won the RBC Heritage Open in South Carolina. While he has not made an official statement, he is scheduled to appear at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, this week. His chances of winning the tournament have increased tremendously, making him a favorite to win alongside Rory McIlroy, the most recent Wells Fargo Championship winner. Scheffler has been unstoppable in 2024, winning four times. He almost made it five in a row but missed that short putt on the final green at the Houston Open to force his way into a playoff. His performance in winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Players Championship, The Masters, and RBC Heritage was beyond exceptional.

Not surprisingly, his current form has drawn comparisons to 15-time major champion Tiger Woods, and he has undoubtedly been as dominant in 2024 as Woods was in his prime. Scheffler won the Masters in 2024 and will now attempt to continue his success by winning another major, his third, at the PGA Championship, but first time as a father.
