Israel Adesanya predicts UFC 300: “Jamahal by KO”

The former middleweight champion shared his prediction for the UFC 300 main event, which will take place at T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas.

The former middleweight champion shared his prediction for the UFC 300 main event, which will take place at T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas.

UFC 300 is edging closer and many have been predicting the outcome of the fights. Israel Adesanya has also wanted to give a take on it. The former middleweight champion said on his YouTube channel that Jamahal Hill will take the light heavyweight belt from Alex Pereira by knockout in the first two and a half rounds. The Brazilian fighter defeated Izzy three times.

The UFC 300 main event disappointed many fans, who expected the return of Conor McGregor or Khabib Nurmagomedov. Although the last fight of the night won’t feature any legendary names from the company, it will be a highly contested and competitive clash.

Pereira will make the first defense of his light heavyweight belt against Hill. The American was the division’s former champion but was forced to vacate his belt due to an Achilles injury. Pereira became champion by a controversial second-round TKO against the former titleholder Jiri Prochazka.

Adesanya is very active on his YouTube channel and uploaded a video where he spoke about the main event. The Last Stylebender, born in Nigeria but raised in New Zealand, predicted the fight.

“Five rounds, so it’s going to be a slow start in the first round. They are going to figure each other out, and get some shots off”.

Alex is going to be throwing the leg kick and Jamahal will be finding his jab and trying to get his fist to Alex’s head. I’m going to go with Jamahal by knockout. I think it’s going to be in the first two and a half”, he stated.

Adesanya knows Pereira very well

Adesanya and Pereira have a long history of clashes. They first met when they were kickboxing fighters and the Brazilian defeated Adesanya twice.

When Poatan made his UFC debut, Adesanya was one of the company’s most charismatic and solid champions. He was the middleweight king and was one of the mixed martial artists with the most title defenses. However, Pereira beat him for a third time after a TKO in the fifth round in November 2022, becoming the division’s champion in a much shorter space of time than Izzy.

Five months later, Israel took Pereira’s belt after knocking him out in the second round. After that, the South American fighter went up in weight and competed at light heavyweight. A few months later, Adesanya shockingly lost his belt to Sean Strickland and he’s now taking a break before returning to the octagon.
