Leading American athletes have expressed dissatisfaction with the presidential election results. NBA superstar LeBron James shared a message following the announcement of Donald Trump’s victory over Kamala Harris.

Now, Olympic multi-medalist Simone Biles has called on current President Joe Biden to take action before his term ends. On her X account, the gymnast from Columbus, Ohio, wrote:

“Mr Biden, I need you to stand up, straighten your back and make some things shake before your departure. xoxo the women in America.” She left a blue heart.

Biles wants action from Biden pre-Trump

Upon learning the election results, Biles expressed her discontent on Threads, voicing disbelief, lamenting for the United States, and asserting that the country deserved better.

During his campaign, Trump claimed that Democrats supported abortion, even up to nine months of gestation. The future president took credit for overturning the Roe v. Wade decision, which had guaranteed abortion rights in the United States since 1973.

Biles continued her remarks in her Instagram stories, questioning how over 71 million citizens could vote for someone found guilty of sexual abuse.

When will Donald Trump’s second presidency begin?

Joe Biden has 75 days left in office in the United States, and that likely seems too short to antagonise the future leader of the most powerful country in the world. Trump’s second presidential term is scheduled to begin on January 20, 2025, when he is sworn in.

Given a recent Supreme Court decision that effectively allows the US president to be immune to punishment when acting officially on behalf of the Office, many are worried that Trump will go too far for his own needs. Will Biden take advantage of this first?
