Update:

Politics and business have taken center stage for Conor McGregor, pushing the fighting career that made him one of the most high-profile athletes in recent years into the background. Many fans had written off any chance of seeing him back in the UFC octagon, but the Irishman seems to have rediscovered his spark.

Sporting a Clubber Lang-style haircut and the mantra “fit, healthy, confident and firm,” McGregor has been sharing clips of workouts focused on keeping his striking sharp — his most lethal weapon in the cage. Ice baths at night and long-distance runs are just some of the routines he’s adding to his regimen while on vacation.

The Notorious has already started his countdown with one goal in mind: to be part of the ambitious UFC card planned for the White House. Alongside Jon Jones, he has already completed the first drug test administered by the U.S.-based promotion — a move that significantly boosts the chances of a comeback for the former lightweight and featherweight champion.
