PPV prices announced for the Crawford-Spence Jr. super fight

Boxing fans will need to save some money to be able to enjoy what is considered the biggest fight of the year.

Update:
Boxing fans will need to save some money to be able to enjoy what is considered the biggest fight of the year.

There are still some days to go before Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. meet in the ring on July 29 for the much-anticipated clash between welterweight undefeated champions, but fans are already talking about the bout and making their predictions.

Although at the start of 2023 it seemed that the biggest fight of the year would be the one featuring Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk for all the marbles at heavyweight, things have played out differently, as the fight won’t happen anytime soon after both sides were unable to reach an agreement.

By then, nobody expected that Crawford and Spence would face each other either after many unsuccessful attempts to make the clash happen over the last years.

However, when most unexpected, news of a deal between both champions to fight in summer started to cope all the boxing and sports headlines, as that’s the fight everybody has wanted to see for a long time and it seemed it would never happen.

Fans will have to cough up money

The pay-per-view prices for the upcoming mega bout have been announced and those who want to experience boxing at its finest from their TVs or personal devices will have to spend a few bucks.

The event, which will take place in Las Vegas, will have a cost of $84.99 in the US, with the fight to go out on Showtime. In the UK, fans will have the chance to watch the showdown after paying a way smaller sum of £19.95 on TNT.

While there has been lots of criticism in the past after some bouts have been labeled as PPV events, the Crawford-Spence fight seems as close as a PPV event can get. And although $84.99 is a considerable amount of money, US potential purchasers may think it’s not a crazy price given the quality of the opponents and the expectation that has been created over a meeting between both stars.

It remains to be seen if the fight will generate close to 1 million PPV buys in America, but given the money fans would need to watch the fight, they might just skip other events to buy the PPV and see who ends up reigning supreme at welterweight in a fight that could be one for the ages.
