SIGA LATIN AMERICA, which is a subsidiary of the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), is teaming up with Brazilian soccer club São Paulo FC to hold an all-star ‘Integrity Match’.

Staged at São Paulo’s Morumbi stadium on Monday 4 September, the exhibition match will seek to promote positive sporting values as part of a wider global campaign aimed at fostering integrity in sport.

“In a symbolic gesture to emphasize individual and collective responsibility for integrity and fair play on and off the field, the match will be played without referees,” SIGA said in a statement on Wednesday.

Personalities from across sports industry

Among the game’s confirmed participants are former Brazil men’s internationals Cicinho, Zetti and Grafite, and ex-women’s national-team player Alline Calandrini. Personalities from other areas of the sports industry will also be involved, such as Brazilian sports minister Ana Moser, who is a former Olympic volleyball player.

The ‘Integrity Match’ is part of the 2023 edition of Sport Integrity Week, an annual SIGA initiative which this year will take place from 2 to 9 September at a range of venues worldwide.
