Sinner: “What do I hate most about tennis? Press conferences”
The Italian joked about what he likes least about tennis and spoke about the serve clock after Alcaraz’s problems. “I try to stay within 25 seconds.”

Jannik Sinner was in a playful mood after defeating Denis Shapovalov in the third round of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, as he now heads into a Round of 16 matchup against Brazil’s João Fonseca.
During his post‑match press conference, a reporter asked Sinner if there was anything about life on the pro tour that he didn’t like. With a grin, Sinner fired back, “Yeah — press conferences. Answering the same questions over and over,” which immediately sent the room into laughter.

Sinner grateful for what tennis has given him
A moment later, he shifted to a more thoughtful tone.“It’s not that I don’t like them. I know it’s part of your job,” he said. “But I enjoy going out there, playing, and living my life. We’re lucky — we get to travel to amazing places. We go to the same cities every year, so you learn which ones you like more and which ones you like less. I have a great life, a safe life, with good people around me. I’m in a fortunate position. I get to travel with my team, and I have friends here too, which helps a lot. So there’s nothing I really dislike. I’m just not someone who loves talking to the media.”
Sinner also weighed in on the serve clock — something that has already caused a few headaches for Carlos Alcaraz this season. “After long rallies or depending on where you finish the point, sometimes you have to rush a bit,” he explained. “But it’s the rule, and it’s the same for everyone. There are moments when you might go a couple seconds over, and that’s normal, but I try to stay within the 25 seconds. I have my rhythm and my routine before serving, but sometimes I skip parts of it so I don’t run out of time. Would I change anything? That’s not my decision.”
