In the competitive world of men’s tennis where great, often heated, rivalries develop; sometimes, unexpected friendships are formed.

One example is the relationship between Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios off the court, which continues to show the great change that has taken place between the two after coming up against each other in the Wimbledon final. The Serbian prevailed to add his 21st Grand Slam title while depriving the Australian of getting his first major victory in singles.

Djokovic: ‘A bromance is born’

It all started when Kyrgios and Djokovic decided to bet on a dinner before the final that would be paid by whoever won the title. Good vibes were also evident during the trophy ceremony after the match, where Kyrgios came to describe Djokovic as “a god”, while the world number six announced that a “bromance” had been born between the two of them.

A “bromance” that, after the episode of Kyrgios claiming the dinner that Djokovic owed him, has had a new development on Djokovic’s last post on his Instagram account. A video he uploaded shows him practicing capoeira with Marcelo Santos, his coach in this discipline.

In the clip, Djokovic is seen performing some exercises of the Brazilian martial art, such as somersaults and kicks. Some of these moves apparently seemed quite demanding to Kyrgios, who did not hesitate to reply with this message: “If you are telling me that this is what it takes to win a Grand Slam, then I am in trouble”, he stated.

One more sign that this could the beginning of a great friendship between Djokovic and Kyrgios.
