The possible big card for the Canelo vs Crawford mega bout
Turki Al-Sheikh would be preparing a five-star card with Mexican and American boxers facing each other. ‘Pitbull’ Cruz and ‘Venado’ López are in it.
Although there is still no confirmed opponent for Saul Alvarez, Terence Crawford is rumored to face the Mexican this year. However, it’s unclear whether it would be in September or even December in a third fight for Canelo in 2024.
One of the personalities who has shown a lot of interest in taking the fight to Arab territory is Turki Al-Sheikh, the businessman who has brought WWE and boxing events to Saudi Arabia. He would now try to assemble a great card in December or at the beginning of 2025, but not in his country, but in the United States.
Canelo vs Crawford in a Mexico vs USA event
Besides having the Canelo vs Crawford super fight in mind, he would also want to have in the card other Mexicans who made an impact this year, such as Isaac Pitbull Cruz, Venado López, Jaime Munguia, and Pantera Nery. Turki Al-Sheikh made his intentions public by posting it on his socials, while some boxing journalists also mentioned it. A Mexico vs. United States card is being worked on.
Among the Americans who would fight the Aztec boxers would be Caleb Plant, Shakur Stevenson, Brandon Figueroa, and Stephen Fulton in a main card of super middleweight, featherweight, and lightweight, with five matches. That’s why the venue would be in the United States.
However, it is worth mentioning that there is a massive weight difference between Crawford and Alvarez, since the Mexican is the 168 lbs king, while the American will debut at super welterweight, (154) in August.
Despite that difference, Turki Al-Sheikh has repeatedly mentioned he is working to make that fight happen.
