The Rock returns to WWE Smackdown and punishes Austin Theory
Dwayne Johnson took the opportunity to punish Theory with a People’s Elbow after exchanging blows on his return to WWE Smackdown.
The WWE Smackdown event on Friday was made special by the return of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to American professional wrestling. The Hollywood A-lister and XFL entrepreneur made an appearance to interrupt a conversation between Pat McAfee and Austin Theory, the former United States champion.
The performer known for his role as Hobbs in the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise thrilled the fans in attendance at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. The Rock took advantage of the moment to deliver a punishing People’s Elbow to Theory after exchanging blows.
Following Johnson’s elbow drop, the actor encouraged McAfee to deliver his own version of the People’s Elbow to the winner of the 2022 Money in The Bank.
One of WWE’s most intense rivalries was forged through the clashes between The Rock and John Cena. However, both wrestlers crossed paths at the Smackdown event and ended up in a heartfelt embrace after Johnson’s involvement in the ring. It’s almost like it’s just for show.
