This is the special belt that the WBC will award to the winner of the Canelo vs Munguía fight

The green and gold organization announced that the ‘Tamaulipas Belt’ is a work of art made by over 15 people.

Update:
The green and gold organization announced that the ‘Tamaulipas Belt’ is a work of art made by over 15 people.

On May 4, Saúl ‘Canelo’ Alvarez will face Jaime Munguia at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the fight in which the undisputed super middleweight crown will be on the line and as is customary by the World Boxing Council (WBC) a commemorative belt will be given to the winner of the clash.

For the boxing event, which will take place in the state of Nevada, the WBC announced that a belt called ‘Tamaulipas’ will be given to the winner. It’s a work of art created by over 15 people involved in its design. In the center of the belt, a characteristic gold plate of the organization chaired by Mauricio Sulaiman can be found.

Over 15 people were involved in the creation of the Tamaulipas Belt, which will be fought on May 4 between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Jaime Munguía, a fight that celebrates the great fights among Mexicans in a 5 de Mayo weekend”, the WBC posted on X.

Canelo’s undisputed super middleweight crown on the line

Alvarez’s WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO super middleweight titles will be on the line. The fight was organized by Premier Boxing Championship (PBC), which had a three-fight deal with the Mexican. This will be the second of those showdowns.

Munguia was the World Boxing Organization (WBO) mandatory challenger but, according to Canelo, he was given the fight because he asked for it respectfully, unlike the WBC mandatory, David Benavidez. The Mexican Monster continues to be denied an opportunity against the Guadalajara native, a fight he has wanted for several months.
