Update:

Not for the first time in recent years, golf fans are desperately wondering when they might get their next glimpse of Tiger Woods after he opted out of playing in Jupiter Links’ fourth TGL match.

Woods not playing in Jupiter Links vs The Bay TGL match

Max Homa will come in for Woods alongside Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner against The Bay Golf Club on February 25, represented by Wyndham Clark, Shane Lowry and Min Woo Lee.

Woods has been one of the star attractions in the technology-led indoor golf league, which he himself created in conjunction with Rory McIlroy and the PGA Tour.

The 15-time major winner has featured in two of the competition’s most memorable moments so far, albeit not for the reasons he would’ve wanted.

He was the first player in TGL history to commit and shot-clock violation in Jupiter Links’ second game against McIlroy’s Boston Common, and comically came up 100 yards short of the green in the defeat to New York Golf Club after a communication mix-up with teammates Kim and Kisner. An incident he took in good humor, it should be said.

Woods' mind not on golf after mother’s death

However, Woods admitted after the matchup against New York that golf was far from being his priority at the moment after the recent death of his mother, which caused him to pull out of his planned PGA Tour appearance at the Genesis Invitational (January 30-February 2).

I had a hard time driving down here,” the 49-year-old said. “I hadn’t hit a golf ball since I played with the President, and just put everything away and shut it off. I had a really hard time getting here and then reliving all the moments that we’ve had, my mom, how excited she was to have (son) Charlie drive her here. So those are some great moments and great memories. It’s been a hard process.”

Tiger Woods' next PGA Tour start

Woods hasn’t played in a tournament since the 2024 Open Championship in July, one of only five events he played in last year. As for his next start, it doesn’t appear as if it will be anytime soon.

“I really haven’t thought about golf, so I don’t think I’m going to be thinking about it for just a little bit here”.
