Tyson Fury is back
The Briton, who announced his retirement in January after his second consecutive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, is set to return to the ring in 2026.

Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) is set to return to the ring. The announcement came via Saudi sports minister Turki Al-Sheikh, who posted on social media on Wednesday: “The ‘Gypsy King’ will be back!!! I talked with him, and I have his word to have him in Riyadh Season in 2026…”
Fury poised for comeback after double loss to Usyk
Just six months ago, Fury hung up his gloves following back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk (23-0-0, 14 KOs). But as has happened before, retirement didn’t stick for long.
For the first time in boxing history under the governance of all four major sanctioning bodies (WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF), the heavyweight division was fully unified. That historic feat came through the Fury-Usyk rivalry, with both bouts going the Ukrainian’s way. The first was a split decision - despite Usyk nearly knocking Fury out in the ninth round - while the rematch was a clear-cut unanimous decision.
Usyk left no room for doubt, though Fury insisted after both fights that he deserved the win. A claim many questioned, especially considering he had to lean on the ropes in the first fight and was thoroughly outboxed in the second.

“We have a rabbit to hunt!”
Following his second defeat to Usyk, Fury announced his retirement, even as speculation swirled about a potential showdown with Anthony Joshua (28-4-0, 25 KOs). It wasn’t the first time the Manchester native had said he was walking away from the ring - and, true to form, he’s coming back once again.
“We have a rabbit to hunt!” Al-Sheikh added in his post. Fury famously dubbed Usyk “the rabbit” during their first face-off, a nickname he used repeatedly in the lead-up to their fights. That comment has fueled speculation that Fury’s return could set the stage for a trilogy bout with Usyk.
Before that can happen, though, Usyk is set to defend his unified titles against Daniel Dubois (22-2-0, 21 KOs) - whom he previously knocked out - on July 19. But come 2026, the Gypsy King is expected to step back into the ring.
