2024 Wells Fargo Championship: The lay of the land

Having hosted the 2017 PGA Championship, it would be fair to say that the course at Quail Hollow is among the more revered on the PGA Tour at present.

Of course, what’s at stake this weekend far outweighs what was on the lines seven years ago when Justin Thomas managed to walk away with the title. Indeed, with the tournament receiving Signature Event status, the winner of their year’s Wells Fargo Championship will walk away with some $3.6 million from a total purse of $20 million.

As for what we can expect, it’s worth noting that World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will not be in the field which immediately places the focus on World No. 2 Rory McIlroy who will be. Of course, the aforementioned Thomas will also be present along with the defending champion Wyndham Clark so be sure to keep an eye on both. Ultimately, expect a high-quality showing this weekend, and be sure to check in with us here for tee times and pairings.
