Paula Badosa expressed her excitement at the prospect of achieving her shared dream with Stefanos Tsitsipas of winning the Australian Open or any other Grand Slam tournament in the same year. The revelation came after Badosa and Tsitsipas confirmed their relationship in early June.

“Yes, that was an amazing dream I had last January after watching him playing the final in Melbourne.

I hope one day we can make that dream come true. We both work very hard, but at the same time, we try to have fun off the court. On the court, though, we work really hard, push each other and motivate each other every morning to be the best version of ourselves.

Badosa continued that the power couple help each other “improve every day,” and that that’s something she really wants to share with fans.

Both Badosa and Tsitsipas, both 25, are yet to secure a Grand Slam victory and are eager to break through together in the same Grand Slam event.

“It would be amazing, and we will fight for it. Let’s see if dreams come true,” Badosa said

Badosa struggling with injury

Meanwhile, the former world No. 2 has been sidelined for the rest of the 2023 season due to a spinal stress fracture in her back that she sustained in May. After participating only in Wimbledon and subsequently withdrawing from the US Open, Badosa made the decision to end her season.

My injury is not good right now. You need time to recover from a stress fracture, and it’s a long process.

The Spanish player born in New York is primarily focusing on regaining full health and preparing herself for the 2024 Australian Open.

Will Badosa and Tsitsipas play together?

I hope to be ready in January. Right now I shouldn’t move because it’s the spine and it’s very delicate. Hopefully, I can be healthy enough to be in the Australian Open and play mixed doubles with Stefanos,” Badosa said.
