The week-long WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play continues on Saturday, with five of the world’s top seven players making their way into the Round of 16 at Austin Country Club.

The ultimate winner of the Walter Hagen Cup will have withstood seven individual matches over five days, including consecutive double sessions of single-elimination play on Saturday and Sunday.

Defending champion and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler continued his dominant run, coming out with a stellar 3-0-0 record. And while every match is crucial this weekend, Scheffler vs. J.T. Poston and Rory McIlroy vs. Lucas Herbert are the two most promising matches.

Let’s take a look at how much the last man standing at this week’s Match Play will be rewarded.

Prize money payout for the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play

The last edition of this event in Austin is among the PGA Tour’s designated events for 2023, which is the reason why the overall prize money payout went from its previous $12 million to an impressive $20 million. The winner of the event is set to take home $3.5 million, up from the $2.1 million Scheffler earned a year ago. As for all other players who advance to Sunday’s semifinals, they each get to keep at least $1.145 million. The ones who make it to Sunday’s semifinals are looking at over a half-million dollars. Additionally, those who do not advance out of group play are paid based on how many points they earned in the first three days of round-robin golf.
