Andalusia is all set to host the 2023 Solheim Cup, an international women’s golf tournament, at Finca Cortesín in the town of Casares, Malaga. From September 18 to 24, 2023, this event will bring together teams of European and American female golfers competing against each other.

This prestigious tournament, akin to the men’s Ryder Cup, marks Spain’s debut as its host, specifically in Andalusia, thereby establishing the region and the Costa del Sol as significant hubs for the global sports community.

Finca Cortesín, recognized as one of Spain’s finest golf courses, will be the venue for the event. It has hosted prominent tournaments, including three World Match Play Championships. The course boasts modern features, with its greens revamped in 2017.

Anticipated as a significant occasion, the Solheim Cup stands as the pinnacle of international women’s team golf. The event is expected to offer a comprehensive experience enriched by Andalusia’s climate, culinary delights, leisure activities, and cultural offerings.

During the tournament, twelve-player teams representing Europe and the United States will engage in a three-day competition encompassing twenty-eight matches. The format includes eight foursomes and eight four-ball games on the initial two days, followed by twelve singles games on the concluding day.

Supporting the event are prominent sponsors like PING, Costa del Sol, and Rolex as global partners, along with Andalusia, Acosol, Marbella City Council, and Benahavís City Council as official partners. The LET, LPGA Tour, Royal Spanish Golf Federation, and Sports Business are collectively contributing to its organization.
