When will Carlos Alcaraz compete again?

Jannik Sinner became the man of the tournament at the Australian Open with his impressive display of skills and mental strength.

The 22-year-old Italian won the first Grand Slam event of his career by defeating Daniil Medvedev in a five-sets war final after eliminating Novak Djokovic in the semis.

Carlos Alcaraz, who was regarded by many as Djokovic’s main threat to his dominance in Melbourne, wasn’t able to continue his quest to the title beyond the quarterfinals, as Alexander Zverev outplayed the Spaniard to win in four sets.

While all the glory and praise went to Sinner for his achievement, Alcaraz took some days off after his elimination to help him break away from the competition and start preparing for the upcoming tournaments.

Alcaraz will be back in Buenos Aires

While losing to Zverev was a bitter pill to swallow for Carlitos, his coaches believe that the young star will learn from this kind of experience and come back stronger.

What seems like a sure thing is that Alcaraz will be looking to come back to winning ways as quickly as possible and determined to win more titles from now on.

Now the conditions will change, as some of the next events will be played on clay. The two-time major champion will make his return to the tennis courts at the ATP 250 Argentina Open in Buenos Aires. The event will take play between February 12 and 18 and Alcaraz will defend his crown after beating Cameron Norrie last year.

After that, Alcaraz will remain in South America, as he will travel to Rio de Janeiro to feature in the ATP 500 Rio Open (February 19-25). He reached the final in 2023 but he lost to Norrie, who managed to avenge his loss in Argentina.

If everything goes as expected, Alcaraz will then fly to the US for the hard court tour that includes the Indian Wells and Miami tournaments. After that, he will travel to Europe to get ready for the clay court season.
