With four rounds ahead, the 2023 Tour Championship brings together 30 golfers for the season’s final moments. A fresh FedEx Cup champion will be determined here. Similar to last year, Scottie Scheffler, the world’s top-ranked player, will start things off at East Lake Golf Club with a 10-under lead.

Scheffler wants to make up for his past loss, and he’ll begin playing on Thursday at 2 p.m. E.T. alongside Viktor Hovland, who won the BMW Championship and is ranked No. 2 in the FedEx Cup standings.

Scheffler and Hovland will be at the back of the 30-player group. Just before them, at 1:49 p.m., will be Rory McIlroy, the three-time defending FedEx Cup champion, and Jon Rahm, who finished the regular season at the top of the standings.

At 1:16 p.m., the last two U.S. Open winners, Wyndham Clark, and Matt Fitzpatrick, will tee off. Clark aims to become the Player of the Year with a FedEx Cup win, while Fitzpatrick hopes to keep up the momentum from his second-place finish at the BMW Championship.

Course

The Tour Championship occurs at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. This club has been around since 1904 and is Atlanta’s oldest. It is also the home course of Bobby Jones.

Predictions

Lucas Glover, starting at fifth place with a 5-under par, is anticipated to stumble and miss out on the top 10 at the Tour Championship 2023. Despite recent successes, including two wins at the Wyndham Championship and the FedEx St. Jude Championship, Glover’s performance cooled off with a finish outside the top 20 at the BMW Championship. With a history of inconsistent results, predictions suggest Glover is unlikely to be a contender at the upcoming championship.

Another unexpected outcome is the strong performance expected from Rickie Fowler, considered a longshot at 70-1 odds. Starting at 3-under-par, Fowler has shown promise with two top-10 finishes at East Lake Golf Club. After a resurgent season marked by a victory in Detroit, Fowler’s improved game, evidenced by multiple top-10 finishes, positions him as a potential contender.
