Next month, the Ryder Cup teams will face off in Italy for the first time, with the USA’s Ralph Lauren facing Europe’s Loro Piana. While the golf competition is the main event, the U.S. team, led by captain Zach Johnson and vice-captain Davis Love III, will also aim to defend their title at the 44th tournament that pits the best players from the U.S. against the top-ranking Europeans.

Ralph Lauren and Team USA

Ralph Lauren, the official sponsor since 2014, will provide the U.S. team with uniforms, outerwear, and tailored clothing to be worn during the Opening Ceremony, Welcome Dinner, upon arrival, and during play. The company will also outfit all American squad caddies, spouses, and partners.

Crafted uniforms by Ralph Lauren draw inspiration from the rich heritage of golf and the Ryder Cup and are poised to evoke a sense of unity and camaraderie among competitors while paying homage to the red, white, and blue. The on-course uniforms will sport a red, white, and blue palette with performance fabrics and an elevated modern design aesthetic. Off-course T-shirts will showcase the company’s signature Polo Bear with an Americana spirit.

The on-course uniforms are designed to provide moisture-wicking properties, stretch, and enhanced airflow. Polo shirts are designed to accommodate any swing radius, while pants are lightweight and flexible. Layering and inclement-weather pieces, including a cashmere hoodie, half-zip pullovers, three-layer rain gear, a cricket sweater, and a packable windbreaker, are all intended to keep the U.S. team comfortable under all weather conditions.

In addition to the Ryder Cup, Ralph Lauren also outfits athletes in other major global sporting events, including the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams, The Championships, Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, the Australian Open, and the American Junior Golf Association. The partnership with the PGA is ongoing.
