The U.S. Team Captain Jim Furyk selecting his six players to complete the 12-player team with the veteran selected Keegan Bradley, Sam Burns, Tony Finau, Brian Harman, Russell Henley and Max Homa as the Presidents Cup returns to The Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada with the action getting underway on Thursday, September 26.

The biennial global golf team competition pits the United States against an International team that represents the rest of the world, excluding Europe, and is a unique golf event in that there is no purse or prize money on the line.

Furyk’s six additional players join the half dozen who had already qualified to make the team: Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay and Sahith Theegala.

One high profile player who will be disappointed to miss out is three-time Presidents Cup winner Justin Thomas, who failed to qualify automatically and, despite reaching the Tour Championship, didn’t do enough to convince Furyk to pick him.

International Team for Presidents Cup 2024

International team captain Mike Weir named three fellow Canadians among his six captain’s picks for the 2024 Presidents Cup.

Canada’s Corey Conners, Taylor Pendrith and Mackenzie Hughes were selected along with South Africa’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout, South Korea’s Si Woo Kim and Australia’s Min Woo Lee.

They join the six automatic qualifiers previously announced: Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama, Australia’s Adam Scott and Jason Day, and South Korea’s Tom Kim, Sungjae Im and Byeong Hun An.

This is the first time three Canadian players will compete for the International team, which is looking for its first victory over the United States since 1998.
