With a stacked field, the tournament will see the likes of world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who has already got two wins this season, as well as Rickie Fowler who is fresh off of his sixth career victory having won at the Rocket Mortgage Classic just two weeks ago. Expect fireworks in this one.

The Field at the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open

As mentioned above, the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open will see some of golf’s best in action. Not only do we have Scheffler who has finished T-5 or better in each of his last six starts on the PGA Tour, but we’ve also got the likes of John Rahm who is currently ranked No. 2 in the world and enters the tournament as a favorite to win the whole thing.

Of course, we also mentioned Fowler who won the Scottish Open in 2015 and finished T-9 or better in four of his last five starts on Tour and is running on 16-1 odds. Alongside them will be some other household names such as Rory McIlroy (17-2), Patrick Cantlay (14-1), and Xander Schauffele (14-1). 2023 Genesis Scottish Open: The Prediction

Of those we’ve mentioned so far, there is definitely one to keep an eye on and that’s Xander Schauffele who is in fact the defending champion. Schauffele has been the definition of consistent this season with a top-25 finish in 14 of his 17 starts on the Tour. On the other hand, it’s got to be said that he’s yet to win this season and has finished T-18 or worse in three of his last four starts. If he’s to do better at the Rennaisance Club, it will have to start with his driving accuracy. Currently ranked 100th in that department, one could argue that it is precisely what has kept him from victory this season so far. Ultimately, though there are outsiders like Tommy Fleetwood to keep an eye on, something tells us that this one is going to be an unsurprising event with Scheffler likely coming out on top given the consistency that he’s shown. Of course, he will undoubtedly face a strong challenge from Schauffele.
