Who is playing in the Valero Texas Open? Field and top players

The 2024 edition of the Texas Open will be an exciting event that will delight golfing fans this week before the Masters at Augusta.

The Valero Texas Open will take place at The Oaks Course, TPC San Antonio from Thursday onwards. Out of the 156 participants, 29 golfers will be looking to gain momentum before the upcoming Masters Tournament. The event is the final opportunity for the competitors to secure their place in the first Masters of the season. This year’s lineup features a group of renowned golfers who will be competing for the prestigious title.

Among the illustrious names who will grace the greens are world number two Rory McIlroy, and joining him will be multiple major winner Jordan Spieth, whose impressive track record includes victories at the Masters, the US Open, and the Open Championship. Also among the lineup are seasoned major champions Matt Fitzpatrick and Colin Morikawa, both of whom are known for their skill and precision on the course. Adding to the star-studded lineup are masters champions Adam Scott and Hideki Matsuyama, both of whom are known for their consistent performance in major tournaments. Alongside them are past Valero Texas Open winners Zach Johnson, Charlie Hoffman, and fan-favorite Ricky Fowler, each of whom has a unique style and approach to the game.

Completing the ensemble are seasoned pros such as Matt Kuchar, Max Homa, Brandt Snedeker, and the hometown hero, Jimmy Walker, who is known for his impressive performance in previous VTO tournaments.
