Why isn’t Tiger Woods playing at the 2025 Masters Tournament?
Tiger Woods is at Augusta National, but he isn’t playing. The former champion tore his achilles in March and was forced to have surgery.
According to those who know, TW won’t be able to play competitive golf for the rest of the 2024 season. This is just another in a long list of injuries over his career.
“As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured,” Woods said in an official statement.
“This morning, Dr. Charlton Stucken of Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida performed a minimally-invasive Achilles tendon repair for a ruptured tendon. ’The surgery went smoothly, and we expect a full recovery‘, added Dr. Stucken.
“I am back home now and plan to focus on my recovery and rehab, thank you for all the support.”
