Who will play in the Stanley Cup’s Conference Finals?

The Oilers completed a major turnaround. Although they were losing the series 3-1, they won the next three consecutive games and secured their spot among the top four teams in the strongest hockey league in the world.

The decisive match against their fellow Canadian counterpart was practically decided in the second period. After a goalless first period, the Oilers scored three times in the second 20 minutes.

Cody Ceci scored to give the Oilers the lead, and Hyman and Nugent-Hopkins were accurate until the end of the second period. Stuart Skinner ended the night with 14 saves, leading the Oilers to victory. He bounced back in the series’ final two games, making 29 saves on 32 shots to help his team advance to Round 3 with a steady effort. Vancouver didn’t give up, and the home team managed to equalize through goals from Garland and Hronek. Vancouver tried to score in the last five minutes without a goalie, but Edmonton defended well.

The road ahead gets much more challenging for the Oilers, who face a quick turnaround before opening the Western Conference Final against a strong Dallas team. Dallas has already defeated the Vegas Golden Knights and Colorado Avalanche in six games each. The New York Rangers and Florida Panthers will compete to reach the Stanley Cup Final in the East.
