Why was former UFC interim champion Tony Ferguson arrested in Hollywood?
The UFC veteran has now found himself on the wrong side of the law, after he was involved a vehicular accident involving several other cars.
From champion to charged with an offense, the one-time UFC star has now got bigger problems to face than his skating record. The question that remains is whether he can come out of this skirmish unscathed.
Tony Ferguson arrested on possible DUI
According to reports, UFC veteran Tony Ferguson was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning, following a multi-vehicle crash in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The 39-year-old is understood to have been detained on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Video of the incident has circulated on social media, in which Ferguson can be seen standing near to an overturned pickup truck. Other cars can be seen in the footage with clear damage. Ferguson does not appear to be injured in the video.
As per the police report, the accident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. PT. Ferguson declined to take a breathalyzer test at the scene, such that he now faces a misdemeanor charge. It is also understood that the former lightweight interim champion had passengers in his car, however, they were reported to have been uninjured.

One of the most recognizable fighters in UFC, Ferguson stands on a record of 25-8 and as mentioned before is a former lightweight interim champion. The man known as ‘El Cucuy’ has been in the UFC since 2011 and has been undoubtedly one of the best fighters in the 155 pound class for the last decade. That being said, the California native has lost his last five fights, most recently to Nate Diaz in September, courtesy of a guillotine choke that forced him to submit.
