Will Nate Diaz return to the UFC after beating Jorge Masvidal?

The Stockton native defeated ‘Gamebred’ via majority decision in their boxing match last Saturday in Anaheim, California.

The Stockton native defeated ‘Gamebred’ via majority decision in their boxing match last Saturday in Anaheim, California.

Nate Diaz beat the odds and avenged his loss to Jorge Masvidal in their 2019 UFC fight when their fight was ruled a technical knockout for Gamebred due to Diaz’s several cuts.

That night Masvidal was the better man, landing the biggest shots and not letting Diaz take the clash to the ground. With that victory, Masvidal became the first BMF champion, a belt he never defended after that.

Last Saturday, Diaz and Masvidal met again, but this time inside a boxing ring. While many analysts and pundits gave the Miami native the edge in that fight, Diaz’s stamina was the key to pulling off the upset, as his cardio was better than Jorge’s, although Masvidal landed the bigger shots.

What did Nate Diaz say about a UFC return?

Nate Diaz has decided he’s had enough boxing. After fighting Masvidal, he revealed he wants to return to the UFC and fight for the title. He left the company in September 2022 after submitting Tony Ferguson in a good farewell fight. The current welterweight champion -Diaz’s division- is Leon Edwards.

“My main objective is always to be the best fighter in the world so I want to return to the UFC. Leon Edwards, Jake Paul, and anybody the f--- else, you’re dead”, Diaz said after the clash.

Nate left the UFC in September 2022 after a spectacular farewell fight where he submitted Tony Ferguson in the fourth round.

He switched to boxing and debuted against Jake Paul. The American lost by unanimous decision in a fight that was more of a show than a boxing match.

After two bouts in the sweet science, he has decided it’s time to return to the MMA world. That’s good news for the UFC, as one of its most controversial and charismatic fighters will fight for the company again.
