Update:

The United States has a number of rising stars in tennis and we may have a new name to get used to: Emma Navarro. The 23-year-old has reached the quarterfinals at the 2024 Wimbledon tournament in London and, given that she ended the run of reigning US Open champion Coco Gauff 6-4, 6-3 in the last round, who knows how far she can go.

Next up for the player who jumped from 149th to 17th in the world rankings from the start of last season until just before action got underway at the All England Club, is Jasmine Paolini. The Italian is seeded 7th.

With a billionaire father – who bought the Cincinnati Open for $300 million – and a rapid rise to fame and tournament success, the backstory to Navarro is as intriguing as the wins over Gauff and Naomi Osaka have been impressive.
