Update:
World Series of Poker

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is where professional poker players compete, and poker enthusiasts seek exciting experiences. The tournament’s long history, combined with the lively atmosphere of Las Vegas, creates an unmatched environment that captures the essence of the game.

The upcoming 2023 WSOP will take place at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas, with Bally’s being officially renamed as Horseshoe Las Vegas later this month. The name Horseshoe holds historical significance as it was where WSOP’s founder, Benny Binion, hosted the tournament annually from 1970 to 2004 at his Horseshoe Casino. Binion was an American career criminal who established illegal gambling operations in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. In 1931, Binion was convicted of shooting and killing a rum runner. In the 1940s, he relocated to Nevada, where gambling was legal, and opened the successful Binion’s Horseshoe casino in downtown Las Vegas.

WSOP 2023: when does the Main Event start?

The $10,000 buy-in Main Event of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is set to commence on July 3, marking the start of the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em World Championship. Poker enthusiasts and professionals eagerly await the beginning of the competition for poker’s grandest prize.

The tournament will culminate with the final table showdown around July 17, and experts predict that it will break previous records, making it the largest WSOP Main Event ever. The tournament features four starting flights from July 3rd to July 6, 2023, providing players with ample opportunities to join, which suggests a vast field of participants, exceeding the previous record of 8,773 players set in 2006.
