It’s good to be back and heading into one of our favorite races of the season. It’s a special race for me, everyone jokes that I have a lot of home races, but Austin always feels like one and the support is really great,” he said.

Regarding what lies ahead in the last six races of the year, Checo is confident in the changes made to try to return to a competitive level that will allow him to return to the podium, a place he has not been since April.

I have been training hard in Mexico and in regular contact with the team in the United Kingdom. We hope to be a better position with the car in Austin. We have made some changes during the break, with the aim of improving the pace and we will see how competitive we are” he explained.

To end, ‘Checo’ acknowledged Red Bull’s teamwork and hopes that Austin, which will be contested in a sprint format, will highlight the work of the energy drink team.

The fact that it is a sprint race makes things a little complicated, because we have a practice session to get the car in order before necessary, but that is where the teamwork comes into play and that is where we excel.” he concluded.
