From Belgium to Holland, with no time to rest, Formula 1 continues its journey to Zandvoort for the second race of this post-holiday season.

Max Verstappen will be playing to a hometown crowd at the 2022 Dutch Grand Prix, which takes place on Sunday, September 4.

At this point in the competition, Verstappen is already a shoo-in to become the World Cup champion, and he is highly favored to win this home race.

The Red Bull driver can once more expect the stands to be filled with an orange tide, just as they were last year.

With an almost insulting superiority over the rest of the grid, the Dutch goes into his homeland race after his ninth win of the season. With a new victory under his belt, he is more firmly established as the leader of the pack, with a 93-point advantage over his teammate, Checo Pérez. Verstappen will inevitably finish the season with his second Formula 1 World Championship.

After the fiasco at Spa, Charles Leclerc lost second place to the Mexican, and is now five points behind him.

On the other hand, with a new podium finish, his teammate Carlos Sainz regains fourth place in the general classification, overtaking George Russell by just one point.
