There has been a lot of turmoil at Red Bull this season, starting with the Horner case and rumors about Max Verstappen’s future. The latest issue is the imminent departure of Adrian Newey, the mastermind behind Red Bull’s championship-winning cars since the days of Sebastian Vettel. According to the German publication Auto Motor und Sport, Newey will leave his role as designer and architect at Milton Keynes shortly.

The media outlet claims that tension within the team is one of the main reasons behind Newey’s departure, even though his contract was supposed to end in 2025. However, the 65-year-old British designer might leave the team before that date.

It is unclear when Adrian Newey will leave Red Bull. His contract is set to end in 2025 when the Red Bull RB17 is expected to be released. The team has already started discussing potential sales of the car with interested buyers. Rumors suggest that Newey wishes to be accessible to pursue new projects by the end of 2024.

Possible destinations

For now, there are just speculations about where Red Bull’s technical director, Adrian Newey, will end up next. Some suggest that Ferrari is a prospect, but it’s not the only offer. If that goes through, Frédéric Vasseur would have welded together a super team with Hamilton, Leclerc, and Newey.

Last March, it was reported that Aston Martin was interested in acquiring Newey’s services. He is considering whether his time with Red Bull in Milton Keynes has ended. If he joins Aston Martin, he will follow in the footsteps of Dan Fallows, former head of aerodynamics at Red Bull, who signed for Lawrence Stroll’s team. Andor Hegedus, a Hungarian engineer from Milton Keynes, recently arrived.

Aside from Adrian Newey, who may potentially leave, the list of departures from Red Bull Racing has grown longer. Lee Stevenson, who was Max Verstappen’s chief mechanic, left his position at the end of last month to join Sauber. This comes alongside the departure of other members of the Red Bull team.
