The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup begins tomorrow, Thursday, July 20. It will be the biggest yet, with 32 teams in its ninth edition and with over half a million tickets already sold. At its inception in 1991, the Women’s World Cup only had 12 teams. In 1999, it was expanded to 16, and 24 in 2015. Now, there will be 32 teams for the first time.
