The fixture list for the 2023/24 Premier League season has been announced, with the new campaign to begin on Friday, August 11, 2023.
The 2023/24 Premier League fixture list was announced on Thursday, with champions Manchester City to kick off the new campaign away to promoted Burnley, who are coached by former City captain Vincent Kompany.
When does the 2023/24 Premier League season start?
Burnley and City will get the Premier League season underway at 3pm ET on Friday, August 11, 2023.
The Premier League’s opening round of fixtures will also feature a box-office clash between Chelsea and Liverpool, in new boss Mauricio Pochettino’s first league game in charge of the Blues.
Chelsea welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, August 13, at 3pm ET.
Who do the promoted teams face on matchday one?
While Burnley face a Friday clash with City’s treble winners on matchday one, fellow promoted sides Luton Town and Sheffield United get their Premier League seasons going on the campaign’s first round of Saturday 10am ET fixtures.
Luton, who are back in the top flight for the first time since 1991/92, visit Brighton. Sheffield United, who have returned to the Premier League after a two-year absence, host Crystal Palace.
Arsenal, Man Utd, Tottenham...
Elsewhere, Arsenal are at home to Nottingham Forest in a 7:30am ET kick-off on Saturday 12, and Manchester United round off matchday one with a home clash with Wolves at 3pm ET on Monday 14.
Having finished in last season’s top four together with City, Arsenal and United, Newcastle United start their 2023/24 campaign at home to Aston Villa, at 12:30pm ET on Saturday 12.
At Tottenham, Ange Postecoglou’s reign as head coach begins with a trip to face Brentford at 9am ET on Sunday 13.
When are the Premier League’s major derbies?
The first Manchester derby of the Premier League season will take place at Old Trafford on matchday 10, with United hosting City on Saturday, October 28. The teams will then meet in the return fixture on matchday 27, on Saturday, March 2.
On Merseyside, Liverpool host Everton on Saturday, October 21 (matchday nine), before visiting Goodison Park on Saturday, March 16 (matchday 29).
The first North London derby of the season will be on matchday six, with Tottenham going to the Emirates on Saturday, September 23. Arsenal then visit Spurs on Saturday, April 27 (matchday 35).
