253 days later: Tottenham record back-to-back Premier League wins
Tottenham Hotspur finally look to have found some form as they battle desperately against relegation under new head coach Roberto De Zerbi.
This season is going down to the wire for Tottenham Hotspur as the North London club battles against a shock relegation from the Premier League. After a bleak season of underperformance, there are positive signs under new head coach Roberto De Zerbi and the club has finally found some good form.
Tottenham have won back-to-back Premier League games for the first time since August 2025, when they beat Burnley and Manchester City to make a flying start to the new season. More than eight months on Spurs managed an impressive 2-1 victory over Champions League-chasing Aston Villa on Sunday, following up a victory over relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers a week earlier.
Those consecutive wins have given Spurs fans real hope that the team can survive this season, but they have had to wait a long time for them. It’s been 253 days since Tottenham last recorded back-to-back wins in the Premier League; here’s a look at what has happened in that time...
Harry Kane has scored 51 goals for Bayern
Even by his own high standards, Harry Kane has really been on top form this season. The former Spurs striker has scored 54 goals in 47 games for Bayern Munich this season but three of those came in their Bundesliga opener against RB Leipzig on August 22nd. That means that Kane has scored 51 goals for Bayern since Tottenham’s August double.
Cristiano Ronaldo has earned $203.9M
The best-paid player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, has a reported annual salary of $5.64 million per week. That level of earnings means that CR7 will have earned more than $200M since Spurs last won back-to-back games in the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest have had four managers
Let’s count them out... Forest began the season with former Spurs boss Nuno Espírito Santo but he was dispensed of in September, replaced by former Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou. The Australian managed just 39 days in the role, before Sean Dyche came in to replace him. Dyche was there for 114 days, only for Vitor Pereira to join in February to become the club’s fourth permanent head coach of the season. And yet, Forest are still ahead of Spurs in the table.
Pochettino has used 45 players for USMNT
Sticking with the theme of former Tottenham coaches, Mauricio Pochettino has been ringing the changes with the United States men’s national team. Since last August Pochettino has used 45 players as he searches for his ideal XI for this summer’s World Cup.
Bayern Munich have won 42 games
Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich look unstoppable this season and they are closing in on a historic treble of Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and Champions League triumphs. They have racked up the wins all season, 42 of which have come since Spurs last won two on the spin.
