AFCON u-turn causes chaos for betting market: can I claim my money if I bet on Morocco to win?
The decision to award Morocco the AFCON title has caused gamblers to request their money from the bookmakers.

The stunning decision to strip Senegal of the AFCON title and award it to Morocco months after the event concluded has sent shockwaves across football and made headlines all over the globe.
Morocco lost the game in dramatic circumstances that saw Senegal leave the field and come back on following a dubious penalty decision from the referee.
The game was won in extra-time by a strike from Pape Gueye, but almost two months later, the African Confederation Appeal Board has reversed its decision and instead awarded a 0-3 default win to Morocco, claiming that Senegal abandoned the game - and therefore threw the result - by leaving the field of play.
This decision has caused havoc for bookmakers, who have already paid out on Morocco winning bets. With the decision now reversed, asking for the money back is a ludicrous feat of impossibility.
What is not so unrealistic, however, is those who placed bets on Senegal winning the tournament feeling aggrieved at not taking their winnings, despite what the history books will now say.
It depends on your bookmaker whether or not they are paying out, so it’s best to contact them and see if you’re in luck.
