Alex Morgan becomes third player in NWSL history to score four goals
The United States women’s national team striker was on fire with the NWSL side scoring four goals against Gotham FC on matchday 2.
It was a sensational night for Alex Morgan who scored four goals over the weekend to give San Diego Wave a 4-0 win over Gotham FC. With this result the San Diego-based team tops the table in the National Women’s Soccer League with six points in the first two games.

The Wave created several opportunities and the 32-year-old striker was able to find the back of the net before the break via a penalty kick. In the 66th minute the referee awarded another penalty and Morgan scored her second of the night.
In the 70th minute the United States international scored her third, from open play. Right before the end of the match Alex Morgan scored her fourth one of the night with a brilliant build up from San Diego Wave.
With that Morgan became the third player in National Women’s Soccer League history to score four goals in a game. And importantly the Wave kept a clean sheet.
