Allison Becker recalls his clashes against Mexican teams and says he loves Mexico and Liga MX. In an interview with Paramount, the Liverpool goalkeeper said he can’t forget the Copa Libertadores semi-final he lost with Internacional against Tigres, who had just signed Andre Pierre Gignac.

“Of course, I remember, I played in the Copa Libertadores against Tigres in Nuevo Leon in 2015 and I lost in the semi-finals against them. Unfortunately, it’s a moment that I always remember. It was a dream for me to play in the Libertadores with Internacional of Porto Alegre... so Tigres is a team I know,” he said.

Tigres have gained some international recognition for having Gignac in their ranks and for their performances in both the Libertadores, where they were runners-up in 2015, and the Club World Cup, where they also reached the final.

However, Tigres is not the only Liga MX team the Brazilian goalkeeper has faced, as in 2019 he played against Monterrey in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup.

“I played against Monterrey in the Club World Cup semi-finals... Héctor Moreno plays there, he is a good friend. I love Mexico and Mexican football,” the 30-year-old added.
