The Águilas del América, for better or for worse, in the history of the last nine World Cups, since Mexico 1986, are the base team of El Tri with 30 summoned to represent the country. After them come Chivas del Guadalajara with 22 players who have attended World Cup editions through United States 1994, France 1998, Korea and Japan 2002, Germany 2006, South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014, Russia 2018 and now to Qatar 2022.

Mexican teams provide World Cup stars

After the Americanistas and Guadalajara, we find the Pumas of UNAM with 16 called up to the national team, then Cruz Azul with 15, within the so-called four greats of Mexican soccer.

In turn, Toluca and Monterrey appear with eleven called up and Pachuca with eight that have been considered to be part of the national teams, while The UANL Tigers have managed to collaborate have seven.

Atlas appears with six elements and León together with Necaxa with five elements that players have contributed to the national team, where teams such as Santos de Torreón, Juárez, Tecos, Veracruz and Puebla also appear.

European teams also appear on the squad list: PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona, Stuttgart, Ajax from the Netherlands, West Ham, Bolton, Naples, Monaco, Wolverhampton, Betis, Espanyol, Sevilla, Villarreal, La Coruña, Arsenal, Galatasaray, AZ Alkhamar, Eintracht, Real Sociedad, Standar, Porto, Benfica, Ajaccio, Manchester.
