Angel City signs Mexican-American forward Katie Johnson

Via their social media, the NWSL team announced a signing to bolster their attack before the start of the 2023 season.

Angel City will seek to be a leading franchise this year in the National Women’s Soccer League, for this they have begun to reinforce specific areas in the squad and on Thursday they announced the incorporation of the Mexican-American forward Katie Johnson.

Katie Johnson joins Angel City

In a post on their official social media account, Angel City shared an image of Katie wearing her new colors. The attacker will wear the number 33 and the club welcomed her with a “Let’s fly, Katie Johnson” message.

Johnson comes to this franchise after defending the colors of Seattle Reign, Sky Blue FC, Chicago Red Stars and San Diego Wave FC in the United States. Angel City will be the fifth team in her career and she will look to contribute with all her experience to be one of the stars in attack.

When does the 2023 NWSL season start?

The 2023 season of the National Women’s Soccer League will begin on Saturday, March 25, while the final will take place on November 11. The road is long, but from now on Angel City, the team co-owned by Natalie Portman, will target consistency en route to success.
