Are tickets still on sale for América vs Chivas semi-final second leg?
Club América have confirmed that every seat has been snapped up for the return leg of Las Águilas’ Clausura 2023 last-four clash with their arch rivals.
Nobody wants to miss the Clásico Nacional clash between Club América and Chivas Guadalajara, as the Mexican arch rivals face off in the semi-finals of the Clausura 2023 playoffs. Tickets for Sunday’s second leg, which kicks off at the Estadio Azteca at 10pm ET, have sold out within a day.
América thank fans for “unconditional support”
Tickets went on sale on Wednesday, and in under 24 hours América confirmed that every seat inside the Azteca has now been snapped up. “Eagles! Thanks for your unconditional support,” the Liga MX club said on social media. “Tickets for the semi-final second leg against Chivas are sold out.”
Fans unhappy about ticket prices
Seats were sold exclusively online, with the ticket office at the Mexico City stadium only opening on the day of the return leg so that fans can pick up their passes for the game.
Tickets were available for between 650 and 2,000 Mexican pesos (approximately $35 to $115) - prices that caused anger among América supporters.
First leg of Clausura 2023 clash also sold out
Meanwhile, Thursday’s first leg at Estadio Akron is also a sell-out. On Wednesday, Guadalajara confirmed that their home stadium will be at full capacity when Chivas and América begin their battle for a place in the Clausura 2023 final, with either Tigres or Monterrey awaiting in the trophy decider.
