During the victory parade in Buenos Aires following Argentina’s World Cup win, some of the players narrowly avoided a serious accident.
Lionel Messi and the Argentina team returned home as heroes after winning the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Thousands of fans lined the streets to welcome them home in Buenos Aires.
Five Argentina players avoid accident atop bus
The World Cup may be over, but the party has not stopped in Argentina and it doesn’t show signs of stopping soon either. After arriving at 2 a.m. in Buenos Aires, a victory parade was scheduled for later in the day in the city.
There was one moment, though, that could have ruined the celebrations completely. Five players - Leandro Paredes, Rodrigo De Paul, Lionel Messi, Ángel Di Maria, and Nicolás Otamendi - were sitting at the tip top of the bus when they almost collided with some telephone cables. They all ducked to thankfully avoid any serious damage. The worst that happened was that Paredes lost his hat.
