Argentina set for China and Indonesia friendly games in June
The current world champions will play two friendlies next June in Asia with the Argentine FA close to confirming the opponents, according to TyC Sports.
The Argentine Football Association (AFA) is close to confirming the opponents the national team will face as part of the two friendlies scheduled for the next FIFA date in June with the 2022 World Cup winners set to face China and Indonesia, according to TyC Sports. The clash against Indonesia on 19 June is locked in according to reporter Gaston Edul with Australia being lined up as back-up should the negotiations with the Chinese FA fail to succeed.
The Albiceleste are destined to return to Asia just seven months after their dramatic Lusail (Qatar) World Cup win over France with two potentially lucrative games on 15 and 19 June with the venues for the games yet to be confirmed.
The South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup do not start until September, with Argentina set to face Ecuador and Bolivia, on the first and second match dates respectively as they look to secure a spot in the 2026 competition that will be staged in Canada, Mexico and the US.
