PREMIER LEAGUE

What games have Arsenal and Man City got in Premier League title run-in?

Mikel Arteta’s side have played 28 games and hold an eight point lead over second placed side Manchester City as the finish line to the season looms closer.

The last time Arsenal lifted the Premier League trophy was back in the 2003-04 season when Thierry Henry bagged 30 goals during the campaign to help Arsene Wenger’s side to pip Chelsea to the title.

Fast forward almost twenty years and The Gunners from North London are on the cusp of their 14th English league win as they currently top the table on 69 points having played 28 games. Closest pursuers Manchester City trail by eight points but Guardiola’s men have only played 27 games and the Sky Blues are still involved in the FA Cup and are in the quarterfinals of the Champions League where they will face Bayern Munich. There are no such distractions for Arsenal as they were eliminated from Europe last week falling to Sporting CP in the Europa League after a Round of 16 penalty shoot-out.

Arsenal are very much in pole position in the title race but Manchester City sent out a scary statement of intent by scoring 13 goals in the space of a week hammering RB Leipzig in Europe before hitting Burnley for six in the FA Cup quarter-final clash on Saturday. Arteta’s men still have to travel to face City at the end of April too.
