Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang suffered a violent robbery this morning at his family home in Castelldefels (Barcelona), as reported by El País. Several hooded men entered the player’s house, threatened him and his wife with firearms and iron bars and forced him open the safe from which several items of jewelry were taken, according to police sources.

The event occurred around 01:00 in the morning. The local police (Mossos) are now investigating as to who could be behind the crime. It was the player’s wife who initially notified the local law enforcement agency of what had happened, according to police sources and this is not the first time that this type of criminal act has occurred in the Catalan capital. In the past several Barcelona players have been targeted and had their homes burgled, although the robberies have usually occurred when they know the players are not at home.
