The Brazilian expressed his gratitude to Carlo Ancelotti for giving him the opportunity against Japan.

Brazil’s Endrick being honest: “I thank God I was able to leave Real Madrid”
Endrick enjoyed one of the most memorable days of his young career on Monday. The Brazil international was finally handed his big opportunity at the World Cup, with Carlo Ancelotti turning to the 19-year-old at halftime after Lucas Paquetá was forced off through injury. Having played just 30 minutes in the tournament before then, all eyes were suddenly on the Real Madrid forward.
The teenager admitted the moment meant everything after a whirlwind six months that transformed his career.
“I’m so happy, so delighted. I’m very grateful to God because these have been six incredible months in my life. Six months that changed my story a little. Earlier this year I wasn’t playing for Real Madrid, and I was able to leave. I thank God for that. I’m also very grateful to Lyon for helping me, for opening their doors to me, for giving me the chance to show my football and make it to the World Cup.”
Endrick also made a point of thanking Ancelotti for showing faith in him.
“I’m very grateful to the coach. He understands everything and knows what you’re capable of. Today he brought me on at halftime to help the team change the game and get the victory.”
At just 19, Endrick is beginning to establish himself as an important piece of Brazil’s World Cup campaign. He has taken another step forward on the road toward the title, while also keeping one eye on the future.
“I’m so happy! I’m enjoying this moment with Brazil, and then I can’t wait to return to Madrid.”
