Barça kids with retro ‘10’ tribute 20 years later

There was a distinctly nostalgic feel around the build-up to Barcelona’s clash with Rayo Vallecano this Sunday, as the players arrived in a shirt that instantly transported fans back to one of the club’s most iconic eras.

The pre-game look paid homage to the legendary 2005/06 kit, complete with the unmistakable No.10 as worn by Ronaldinho. It’s a design deeply tied to memories of European glory, evoking that unforgettable night in Paris when Barça conquered the continent. Given the age of Hansi Flick’s current team, several of them weren’t even alive at the time.

The tribute wasn’t just symbolic. The club has officially reissued the shirt, making it available for supporters through its online store. Given the emotional pull of that era - and the smiley Brazilian’s enduring popularity – demand is expected to be high.

Two versions have been released: a premium long-sleeve edition featuring Ronaldinho’s name and number, and a cleaner version without the iconic ‘10’ on the back. Pricing reflects the collector appeal, positioning the shirt as both a fashion statement and a piece of football history.

Interestingly, Barcelona are not part of LaLiga’s broader retro-themed matchday initiative this season. The absence is said to be down to production constraints, with Nike reportedly unable to deliver a bespoke heritage design in time for the league-wide activation.
