Perhaps Barcelona's longest spell of possession so far, and all because Bayern let them. The b delighted with their performance tonight and seem content to see this out.

No Gavi, no problem. PabloTorre imitates his teammate with a sly foul on Mané.

If there isn't, then I'm claiming it. Because it pretty much sums up Barcelona's night.

Raphinha causes chaos and creates Barça's best opportunity of the half

Chance for Bayern (copied and pasted) as Gnabry does well again and puts a low cross in; TerStegen is the quickest to react and gets down to collect it.

Mazraoui off, Stanisic on

Barcelona have tried passing around the defence, making runs off the ball, going long, and now they're just trying to smash through the opponent's block like someone pushing a 'pull to open' door. 

If Bayern don't break the press with a nice run, then they find the free man with a pass. They appear to have every solution covered this evening.

Between what we've seen tonight and Leipzig's display yesterday, it's been a good advert for fizzy drink football. 

Fantastic link up play from the home side - but guess what?

They messed up the chance. Shock. 

Lovely triangles in possession lead to Raphinha slamming the ball at a defender; Ansu picks up the scraps but slices it wide.

Barça: Eric and Ansu on for Kounde and Dembélé

Bayern: Gravenberch on for Musiala

Bayern have looked incredibly comfortable all night, which is obviously in large part down the context of the game. Nevertheless, there is a gulf in class on the pitch tonight and Barça look absolutely powerless to get anywhere near them.

Ferran gets sick of watching Barça take pot shots and attempts to run directly through the Bayern defence and into the goal. Ulreich picks up the ball with ease as Ferran is shoved away.

Another chance for Bayern! The ball is played in towards Mané but Bellerín's turn to win a race and he manages to sweep it away before the winger can double his tally.

Muller on for Choupo-Moting.

Upamecano on for Pavard.

Xavi mixes things up for the remaining 30 minutes: off come Busquets and Pedri for Ferran and Raphinha.

Lewandowski huffs and puffs and looks around the ground for answers as he runs into the Bayern defensive unit yet again. Nothing is working for the Catalan side.

Gnabry was ever so slightly past Balde when the ball was played to him, and his lovely effort is ruled out.

When Sergio Busquets is resorting to long-range curling efforts to get you back into the game, something has gone wrong. 

Counter attack for Barça, as Dembélé finds himself running alone against two defenders. But tonight's not his night, and he takes a huge touch that is cleared.

I don't want to mention the 'Lewandowski hasn't shown up against the big sides this season' debate (here comes the but) but, his layoffs aren't finding his teammates tonight like they normally do.

Bayern are managing him well so far. 

Looking like the same old story to be honest, Barçagetting as far as Bayern want them to before pinching the ball and running like mad towards the home side's high defensive line.

Scores on the doors around the Champions League

Group A

Ajax 0-1 Liverpool
Napoli 2-0 Rangers

As it stands Napoli should win the group, unless Liverpool can beat by them by better than 4-1 in the final group stage match on Tuesday 1 November. Napoli should be on 15 points if they hold on to beat Rangers (this is likely), while if Liverpool beat Ajax they’ll finish on 12, meaning they’d need to beat Napoli in the final game of the season to level their tally of 15, and to win the head-to-head better the 4-1 tonking the Italians gave them in the opening game.

Liverpool could still fail to qualify if Ajax end up beating them here. 

Rangers meanwhile are in a similar situation to have any dreams of reaching the Europea League, needing Ajax to continue losing to Liverpool, and then needing to beat the Dutch team in the final game of the group stage by better than the 4-0 humbling they received in Amsterdam.

Group B

Brugge 0-4 Porto (finished)
Atlético 1-2 Leverkusen

Atleti are going out as it stands, on four points and losing to Bayer Leverkusen. Brugge or Oporto, on 10 and 9 points respectively can both win the group, while Bayer, on 6 as it stands are still out of contention for the second round, as they were beaten home and away by Oporto.

Group C

Inter 4-0 Viktoria Plzeň (finished)
Barcelona 0-2 Bayern Munich

Barcelona are definitely out of the knock-out stages and definitely in the Europa League, with Viktoria Plzen on no points, Barça’s four points mean they get that consolation guaranteed.

If Bayern end up winning here, which they look likely to do, then they’ve won the group, on 15 points, with Inter back on 10.

Group D

Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 Marseille
Tottenham 0-1 Sporting Lisbon

Proper open group this one, with Sporting Lisbon top on 9 as it stands, with Tottenham and Eintracht on 7 and Marseille on 6. Anything could happen.

Sabitzer for Goretzka is the only change at half-time.

Now this is pettiness we can all get behind

Barcelona, for the most part, haven't managed to create anything significant all game. Bayern's press has had them boxed in from the start and the space left behind the defensive line has repeatedly been exploited, leading to the two goals. Gnabry has been excellent, creating both of them.

The crowd have been loud, but only out of frustration. Lewandowski's leg ran into De Ligt's rather than the other way around and any feeling of a comeback is not crossing the mind of even the most optimistic fan.

Given the feisty nature of the game, Gavi must be keen to get a run out; we'll have to wait and see at what point Xavi decides to look ahead to the weekend and starts to change things.

Mané wins the ball again from Bellerín but fluffs the opportunity. Bayern's press has been excellent so far.

Half-chance for Mané as he is fed the ball down the left. He bends it high and wide. 

Barcelona just can't get a clear chance. Yes, Bayern are being a bit cheeky with the fouls but they're closing down really well. 

Dembélé makes a typical run inside from the right wing but loses the ball. He vents his anger with a late challenge on Davies. 

Goretzka sees yellow for a trip on Busquets. At least the Camp Nou have something to shout about.

De Ligt versus Lewandowski look like it could be a tasty battle this evening. The defender comes charging into the back of the Pole as he receives the ball.

Noise from the crowd as Lewandowski looks to have been fouled as he pressured De Ligt, but referee Taylor was having none of it.

Lovely build-up from Barça, moving the ball from left to right; some fantastic footwork from Dembélé. But it comes to nothing. 

It was a fantastic ball from Gnabry who saw the run and challenged Mané to a race with Bellerín (one we all love to see). 

Mané must really want to reminisce about old times in Premier League: he hasn't let Bellerín have a moment of peace so far. Pressing him like crazy.

Early scare for Barcelona as Mané lays off to a Davies overlapping run. Thankfully for them it comes to nothing.

Pedri's comments

The Spaniard made some interesting remarks in a recent interview with the club:

"We weren't expecting [the Champions League group stage exit] to happen."

He also spoke about the influence of RobertLewandowski, making it seem very much like the Pole is the father figure in the squad: "[Lewandowski] tells me and Gavi what to do, how to move."

Barça might not have much on the the line tonight, but Rapha is looking good anyway...

The last time Barcelona faced Bayern, it felt like a turning point.

The Catalan side competed well (ah, Inter have just gone 3-0 up) and should definitely have come away with more than a 2-0 loss.

Goals from Sané and Hernández in a few minutes sentenced them to the away defeat.

Inter are 2-0 up at half time and Barcelona's Champions League adventure looks unlikely to continue. Let's see if Inter go all Inter-y in the second half and throw this lead away, which is always an option.

Turns out the Germans are quite good at football. Bayern currently sit top of Group C with 12 points from 12.

Inter (who are 2-0 up but have missed approximately three million chances so far), sit below them with 10 points. 

Barcelona have 4 points.

Yes, Inter vs Plzen is currently being played, a match that will determine the importance of Barcelona's fixture tonight.

It's Joe here and I'll guide you through the action as it happens. 

Xavi said that Barcelona will “fight like lions” if his team ends up in the Europa League. Let’s see if they manage to do so this evening, even if it is only for pride.
