For Barcelona’s game against Real Valladolid in LaLiga (Saturday August 31, 11:00 a.m ET / 8:00 a.m. PT.), few changes are expected in the lineup to be announced by Hansi Flick. Due to injuries, a small squad, and his general reluctance to rotate players, he will likely start with the eleven we are getting used to as the weeks go on.

Ter Stegen will be in goal, with Jules Koundé and Balde on the flanks in the back line. Cubarsí and Iñigo Martínez will play as the central defenders while in midfield, with Bernal injured, Marc Casadó will play alongside Pedri.

Casadó was a starter in the first match, but then Flick opted for Bernal. Eric Garcia could return to the squad after missing the trip to Vallecas and might be another option for the defensive midfield position.

The offensive setup also appears to be quite settled. Lamine Yamal is untouchable on the right wing, and Dani Olmo will take his place behind Lewandowski. Olmo, the star signing of the season, had a spectacular debut against Rayo, completely changing the game and scoring the winning goal.

Barcelona predicted XI [4-2-3-1]:

GK: Ter Stegen

DEF: Koundé - Cubarsí - Iñigo Martínez - Balde

MID: Casadó - Pedri - Olmo

ATT: Lamine Yamal - Lewandowski - Raphinha

Ferran Torres is likely to be the player to miss out, with Raphinha moving to the left wing. Flick is very pleased with the Brazilian’s performance, noting that he is a supportive and committed player. Fermín will wait for his opportunity on the bench. The German coach acknowledged in a press conference that Fermín needs to be patient as he joined the team late, but he believes the Spaniard is ready to be a starter at any time.

Up front, there is no doubt: Robert Lewandowski will once again play as the centre-forward. The Pole has made his best start since joining Barcelona, scoring three goals in the first three games, and is returning to his best form under Hansi Flick.
