Barcelona wait for Bayern Munich decision on Robert Lewandowski

Lewandowski is currently on holiday in Mallorca waiting for a decision to be taken on his future.

Barcelona have not yet acknowledged submitting a formal offer for Robert Lewandowski. On Wednesday, Mundo Deportivo’s front page reported that Barça will pay beyond €30 or €35 million for the Polish striker, while, Sport and other German outlet say that Barça will pay up to €40 million plus add-ons.

Lewandowski is currently on holiday in Mallorca waiting for a decision to be taken on his future. For the moment, the only serious step that has been taken is by him showing his determination to leave Bayern and choosing Barça as his next club.

He wants to join the Catalan club and try to bring Barça back to where they once were, however, Bayern are not going to make it easy for the 34-year-old.

Barça’s loan agreement with Sixth Street, which will see them earn €200 million in exchange for selling 10% of their TV rights for the next 25 years will indeed help the club, who will have the approval of LaLiga to make transfers.

Mané joins Bayern

It is now a question of Bayern giving in. Lewandowski believes that the club should back his decision for his performances over the years. But Bayern are a proud club and, although they have signed Sadio Mané from Liverpool, they can’t find a guaranteed number nine on the market.

Lewandowski has asked Joan Laporta through his agent, Pini Zahavi, to improve the club’s offer so that he does not to return for Bayern’s pre-season on 12 July.

Pressure on Laporta to sign

For the moment, however, Laporta has not moved. The president of the Catalan club has a lot at stake. After failing to hold onto Lionel Messi last season, when he promised that he would arrange his contract renewal, the pressure is now on to complete the signing of Lewandowski, who he has promised he will make his dream of wearing the Barça shirt come true.
